The aim of this work is to give insight into the organisational processes, self-presentation as well as strategies and concepts used by the artivistic group Zentrum für politische Schönheit. Their structure is similar to an official social or activist organisation (e.g. NGO) and their work can be located in the context of theatre, through certain characteristics, which are brought forward in the following analytical work. In this paper the performance Flüchtlinge Fressen is used as a focal point in order to analyse specific methods. Important factors in their artistic work are the blurring of the border between reality and fiction as well as using appropriation as a tool. These methods are analysed and exemplified within the following paper. The last chapter focuses on the type of language used and the notion of Beauty that can be located in the nineteenth century when the “horrific-beauty” was hegemonic. To conclude, political opportunities for action are highlighted, whilst also possible risks are pictured.
